Dhikala Forest Lodge Jim Corbett

Welcome to Hamara Uttarakhand. All information about Dhikala Forest Lodge booking and charges is given on our website, if you need more information then contact us. We will help you book a room for your overnight stay at Dhikala Forest Lodge. The Dhikala area of Corbett National Park is perhaps the best, cleanest and wildlife-rich area in North India, which is a rich source of wildlife, animals and plants and has immense natural beauty. Built in 1936, Dhikala Forest Lodge is located on the banks of the Ramganga Reservoir, overlooking the forested hills of Kumaon and Garhwal. An overnight stay here offers a true wildlife experience, including elephant rides, jeep safaris, and spending the morning at observation towers overlooking the Ramganga River and waterholes. It is 50 km away from Ramnagar Railway Station. Dhikala Forest Lodge’s location matches its basic accommodations – although these facilities were significantly improved in 2006, as it’s located in the heart of the forest and offers wildlife viewing from your room’s veranda. The rooms at Dhikala have been renovated and are no longer basic by Indian jungle standards. Dhikala Forest Lodge is located in the core area of Corbett National Park and is surrounded by an effective solar fence to protect you from wild animals.
The rooms are clean, with tiled floors and attached English-style flushing toilets. There are showers and mixers work – in case of breakdowns, it is recommended to take a bath with a bucket. Hot and cold water is available, but we recommend mineral water for brushing your teeth. The lodge has a timed power supply and a backup generator and inverter. Wildlife films are shown every other evening in a makeshift theatre and the lodge also has a great wildlife library.

Attractions

Flora of Dhikala Region : Grasses, ferns, vines, grasses, shrubs, salier, khair, sissu and chir pine are the same evergreen plants found in Corbett. One of the best examples of unspoiled beauty, the Dhikala ecotourism area offers some of the best views in the Corbett National Park. The rich diversity of wildlife makes it one of the top tourist destinations in India. The Dhikala region is the largest of the five zones of the Corbett Tiger Sanctuary and offers the most beautiful scenery, with lush green sal forests, vast grasslands, narrow valleys and the diverse waters of the Ramganga River. The Ramganga River is considered to be the lifeblood of the Corbett Forest, which harbours wildlife and beauty and maintains the flora and fauna of the CorbettNational Park.

Dikala Canter Safari : You can spot endangered animals like tigers in the natural environment of the national park. The largest and only area of the Corbett Tiger Sanctuary to offer canter safaris is the Dhikala region. It is accessible through Dhangadi Gate, which is 18 km from Ramnagar town, which is 50 km in the forest. Canter safaris (16 passenger open top bus with guide) are a popular way to explore Corbett Tiger Reserve. Suitable for large groups of family and friends or party members. One of the best ways to explore the jungle, canter safaris are available only in the Dhikala region. Those who live outside the region and wish to explore the wildlife sanctuary can do so by opting for a canter safari.

Chaur (grasslands): Dhikala is famous for its vast grasslands, which are home to elephants, spotted deer, wild boars, hog deer, etc. Visitors can often spot wild tigers crossing the grasslands or chasing deer.

Watch Tower: The watch tower at Dhikala is perfectly located and offers a spectacular view of the wild animals grazing in the nearby pastures. This gives you a spectacular view of the entire Ramganga river bank as well as a large part of Dhikala Chaur. This watch tower is at a 10-minute walk from Dhikala Forest Rest House. About fifty yards south of the watchtower is a man-made watering hole, making it the perfect spot to spot deer, elephants, wild boars and the occasional tiger.
